Modern take on Javanese wedding traditions — What to keep, what to skip?

My fiancé is Javanese and I'm Sundanese. We want to honor the Javanese traditions but also keep the ceremony from being too long (some traditional ceremonies can go 5+ hours!).
Traditional Javanese ceremonies include:
- **Siraman** (cleansing ritual)
- **Midodareni** (bride's eve ceremony)
- **Panggih** (meeting ceremony)
- **Balangan Gantal** (betel leaf throwing)
- **Wiji Dadi** (egg stepping)
- **Kacar-kucur** (rice pouring)
- **Dahar Klimah** (feeding each other)
- **Sungkeman** (asking parents' blessing)
Which ones are absolutely essential? Which ones can we skip or shorten without offending the family?
Any couples who've done a modern Javanese wedding — how did you balance tradition and practicality?
